Action Coach is the World’s Number 1 business coaching firm and last Thursday, 1st November, at the SWIRE
meeting, Graeme Crosby certainly lived up to this reputation. He spoke to us for almost two hours and the time simply flew by with some very straightforward strategies for personal development and increasing your ‘bottom line’.
His ‘formulae for life and business success’ was presented in a way which was straightforward and easy to understand and implement, and hopefully everyone who was there came away with fresh inspiration.

'My first business, First Step Recruitment, specialised in supplying temporary staff to the industrial sector.
Having successfully gone from start up to a three site multi-million pound turnover in seven years, employing 23 staff and 7,000 temporary workers per annum, I handed operational control of the business to my husband who had
subsequently become involved, as I began to devote more time to my emerging political ambitions and commitment to civic duty.
Sadly the last year has seen the failure of both the business and my marriage and I now find myself starting all over again, attempting to recover what remains of my original branch in Bristol and grow my Executive Search consultancy based in Taunton which I launched in January.
I'm looking forward to juggling the challenges of once again being a single mum to my teenage son, running two
businesses, my new role as a District Councillor and being a much more confident, independent thirty something singleton!'

Flying Start Programme
We have just had information about this which is the first programme of its kind specifically for university women and recent graduates who are planning to start a business based in the UK within the next 12 months. It is for any women, any age, any degree!
The programme will help participants to start their business within 12 months. The programme is also open to women who have been trading for less than 6 months and will aim to help you grow your business. The programme is free for final year university students and recent graduates (of up to 5 years) from any degree at any level, and any age (full-time or part-time). All types of businesses are eligible.
The programme is completely free and includes:
A 3 day residential course where you will acquire business skills and build your network to get started. The residential will be held on 7, 8, 9 January 2008 at The Park Inn in York, UK. Other programmes will be held through out the country in the coming year so even if you can’t make this date submit your application because there will be others in 2008 and you are able to defer and attend a future programme
An experienced mentor who will support and help you for 12 months
Focused follow up meetings where you receive further help you need to get you trading
Join other women from across the UK to learn how to turn your passion into a sustainable and successful business.
